Employment Preparation and Placement

Employment Preparation and Placement program model is to provide high – need individuals ages 20-55 years old with the necessary job readiness training (JRT) and Placement supports to obtain and sustain employment with wages above the standard City Minimum Wage. Participants will complete the JRT that will be directly linked to placement into full time permanent employment ( minimum 20 hours per week) with an expected retention of at least 90 day of employment.

Work First Program

Proposed and have been awarded a Work First Program from the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). This program targeted AFDC/TANF participants, who have been identified as job ready, near job ready, or harder to serve. The Work First program provides services to clients that have been identified for the intensive self-sufficiency coach model. The objective is to coach participants to higher levels of self-sufficiency, both personally and financially. According to the individualized RSP (Responsibility and Service Plan) each consumer is expected to participate in various qualifying performance activities as defined by IDHS. Such activities will address the consumer’s barriers to employment and increase their work skills. Each consumer is provided a individual service plan which will identify various activities as stated by IDHS.

 

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training

The FSE&T Program provides employment and training services to able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs) who receive food stamps, non-ABAWDs who receive food stamps and volunteers to enable them to gain work skills, work experience and become self-sufficient. Individuals participate in specific programs based upon their individual assessments, identifying strengths and areas for development.
